Privacy
We take your privacy incredibly seriously. MMMetrics has operated EVE Online websites for several years and in those years we have never had an issue of data security. We maintain high standards of data security and integrity within our websites and operating staff, which is kept to a minimum.
All areas of the website which handle sensitive data such as personal overviews, API keys, and corporate sections use SSL transport encryption, the same technology used by banks to secure connections across the internet.
The API and Corporate Security
EVE Metrics makes use of the EVE Online API to retrieve information for the tools on the website. You have complete and utter control over all API resource accesses except those that are marked as required in the API permissions section.
You must explicitly allow EVE Metrics to use all other API functions. This is highly recommended, but you may choose not to if for example you have extremely sensitive data on some characters (alliance holding corp alts) or if your corporation's policy forbids it.
Corporation data is shared within corporations but all data is subject to the same permissions within EVE Metrics as ingame. Character roles are stored internally and used for permissions. As a result, characters in a corporation only have access to corporate data loaded from director API keys if they have access to the data in question ingame (example: only accountants can see corporate wallet data).
Data Integrity
In order to maintain the integrity of our data, any data that enters our system will not be subsequently deleted. This applies to nearly all data, including market orders, wallet data and transaction data.
It is considered the user's responsibility to ensure no data they do not want loaded into the system is loaded by using the integrated permission system. EVE Metrics staff can be contacted in emergencies if, for example, a holding corp's assets are loaded into the DB, and a manual erasure can be undertaken.
Data Sharing
All data that is loaded into EVE Metrics with the exception of personal data such as wallet data is subject to being shared and/or published. Private data such as wallet journals may be used for statistical purposes but will never be identifiably linked to your character or account.
